The third kingdom, Grecia, is represented by this symbol.If wings upon the lion signified rapidity of conquest, theywould signify the same here. The leopard itself is a swift-footed beast, but this was not sufiicient to represent the careerof the nation which it symbolized in this respect; it must havewings in addition. Two wings, the number the lion had, werenot sufficient, it must have four ; this would denote unparal-leled celerity of movement, which we find to be historicallytrue of the Grecian kingdom.
